CORVALENT RE-RELEASES LEGACY MOTHERBOARDS WITH ECO-FRIENDLY RoHS COMPLIANT RAPTOR AT AND RAPTOR ATX MOTHERBOARDS

INTRODUCING THE RoHS COMPLIANT RAPTOR AT AND RAPTOR ATX MOTHERBOARDS

MORGAN HILL, California (03/14/07) ---- Corvalent today announced continued support and extended production life cycle for RoHS (Reduction of Hazardous Substances) compliant Intel® Pentium® 3 (Socket 370) based Raptor AT and Raptor ATX. Both boards will be supported for a minimum of an additional five (5) years.

Corvalent's Raptor AT is based on the Baby AT form factor (8.6" x 13") and is designed for embedded applications or legacy platforms requiring full 8/16-bit ISA support & PCI connectivity. Features include four (4) ISA and four (4) PCI slots. The Raptor ATX follows the ATX specification (8" x 12") and includes three (3) ISA slots, four (4) PCI slots and one (1) 4x AGP slot.

Both platforms are based on the industry proven Intel® 440BX chipset, allowing customers maximum return on investment on current designs that would otherwise be obsolete.

RoHS compliance of these legacy boards allows customers a form, fit & functional drop in replacement in a compliant platform with no compatibility issues or productions delays.

"This eco-friendly action now allows our customers to pursue continued production and support of EU (European Union) opportunities with no restrictions or system modifications," stated Ed Trevis, President and CEO. "This represents tremendous cost savings as customers will avoid costs associated with re-engineering, testing, qualifying, validation, software compatibility and the added expense of agency certification costs," continued Trevis.

While most motherboard vendors are concerned specifically with the high volume commercial chip lifecycle of typically six (6) to twelve (12) months, Corvalent continues to stand behind a five (5) to eight (8) year production guarantee.
