MORGAN HILL, California (1997) ----American Predator Corporation (APC) has released the preliminary design of the Active Backplane™. The Active Backplane offers superior performance and reliability when compared to ordinary backplanes. It offers up to a total of nine 16-bit expansion slots, with one dedicated CPU slot for signal integrity. The Active Backplane can be used as a stand-alone; segmented (passive backplane); or connected to an APC industrial motherboard, the Hunter Hyper Cache Plus™ and the Raptor AT™, through an on-board VME type connector (Active Backplane). The Active Backplane is the perfect solution for a dual processor system configuration that is required to be installed in the same enclosure. It features standard Baby-AT mounting holes for easy and universal fitting and endless customizations.
