Corvalent Selected as Finalist for the Greater Austin Business Awards

Austin, TX, August 31, 2012 – Corvalent, the only embedded computing design and manufacturing provider to deliver ten years product longevity, was selected as a finalist in the Health and Wellness category for the Greater Austin Business Awards sponsored by the Austin Chamber of Commerce.  This award recognizes organizations that actively encourage employees to engage in a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle.

Corvalent has a defined wellness program that is a yearlong initiative with a corresponding wellness calendar to highlight a different topic each month.  In addition to providing discounts and additional benefits at several local gyms (which more than 50% of the company utilizes), the company provides many onsite opportunities, including a "Corvalent Sheds Pounds program" and separate company meetings dedicated to wellness and typically featuring an expert guest speaker, coach or program to watch.  To date, Corvalent has had a yoga instructor teaching ways to breathe and relax to reduce stress, a women's wellness seminar, healthy cooking demonstration, fitness expert and nutrition expert.  Employees also participate in twice weekly Zumba classes and highly discounted chiropractic and rehabilitation care, including a weekly onsite visit from a local chiropractor to make "adjustments" as needed.
