Best Employer Business Award by the State of Texas Workforce Commission

Texas and the Office of the Governor hosted a Small Business Forum at the Jack Guenther Pavillion at the Briscoe Western Art Museum in downtown San Antonio.  The event began at 2pm with a full screening of the American Made Movie and concluded with an evening awards ceremony from 6:30-8:30pm with a keynote address from Peter John Holt.

The day featured a screening of the “American Made Movie”, a documentary that has received national acclaim for its awareness campaign spotlighting the resurgence of the Made in America label.  The focus of the Workforce Commission and the Alamo Workforce Solutions team is to continue to support a growing base of educated and skilled workers to help foster continued growth and expansion of Texas industries.

General sessions included a discussion from the American Made Movie producers and Texas based manufacturers on procurement opportunities for small businesses in Texas.  Also on the docket was a Google workshop discussing how best to leverage the services Google has to offer small business owners.

The evening will be concluded with an awards ceremony recognizing four companies who have successfully relocated to the Lone Star State.  Award recipients were:"...
